IT’S OFFICIAL- SOFI IS GREAT PLACE TO WORK CERTIFIED!

We are thrilled to share the exciting news that SoFi Technologies has been certified a Great Place to Work by The Great Place to Work Institute, the premier global authority on measuring best-in-class workplaces. This certification is based entirely on an employee survey.  Overall, 85% of our US-based employees said it’s a great place to work, compared to just 57% at the typical U.S. company.

The survey asked 2,900 US-based SoFi Technologies employees (which encompasses SoFi, Galileo, Technisys, and Golden Pacific Bank employees) about their experience working here, and we received a 26% response rate! It is the only official recognition determined by employees’ real-time reports of their company culture. Earning this designation means that SoFi is one of the best companies to work for in the country.

SoFi has experienced unprecedented growth in recent years and as a result, we have embraced the opportunity to cultivate an amazing experience for our employees. And this focus on a people-first culture is reflected in the Great Place to Work survey, where 90% of our employees said that they are proud to tell others they work at SoFi.

We are committed, now more than ever, to fostering an innovative, inclusive environment where team members can bring their best selves to work every day and build a fulfilling career. Our growth is directly correlated to employee success and satisfaction, and we continue to invest in ways to cultivate a welcoming culture where everyone can learn and thrive.

We are proud to say that our highest rated focus area on the Great Place to Work survey was around Justice, which measures the extent to which employees perceive that management promotes inclusive behavior, avoids discrimination and is committed to ensuring fair appeals. 91% of our employees rated us highly on the area of Justice in the workplace. This overwhelmingly positive sentiment is due to the fact that we have a thoughtful and comprehensive Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategy - we focus on four key areas that enable us to create and sustain a culture where everyone feels valued, heard, and has equal opportunity to thrive. One of these focus areas is ‘fairness in clarity and processes’, which includes programs that actively mitigate unconscious and conscious bias in the hiring process and in annual performance calibrations by ensuring the processes are objective and inclusive. Another area we scored high in on the Great Place to Work survey was interaction , which measures our employees’ enjoyment of their colleagues, their sense that they can be themselves, and that they can count on and support each other - we scored 87% positive! This is exciting knowing that employees at a Certified workplaces are 93% more likely to look forward to coming to work.  SoFi Technologies #1 priority is to make our culture better through every interaction we have with each other.  We believe we scored high in this area because of how we connect our employees to each other through living our values. We have 11 core values that are at the center of how we think about serving our members and clients, building our company, and most importantly, how we work together. At SoFi, it’s not just what we do—but how we do it.  We have a Value of the Month Program where each month, we highlight one of our core values (December is dedicated to all 11!) and offer both in-office and virtual programming that bring that value to life. This programming includes learning sessions with industry thought leaders and experts, weekly “Motivation Monday'' emails to inspire employees for the week ahead, and monthly recognition opportunities.

Of course, receiving rich feedback like this offers us an incredible opportunity to Learn, Iterate, & Innovate (1 of our core values), on our areas of improvement. Our biggest area of opportunity identified by the survey is around Collaboration,  which measures employee perceptions of management’s willingness to engage employees in collective efforts. To address this topic, we have recently rolled out manager behavioral competencies, which encompass the knowledge, skills, and abilities that distinguish excellent managers. One of our behavior competencies is in fact collaboration, and our Learning and Development team is crafting customized content around this competency to train our managers on how to best collaborate, the SoFi Technologies way! Why does manager excellence matter? Because according to Great Place to Work research, job seekers are 4.5 times more likely to find a great boss at a Certified great workplace.

We want to thank our employees for sharing their honest feedback with us. We are biased, but believe we work with some of the most incredibly talented people, who support and care about their co-workers, work hard, build each other (and our products!) up, and have fun along the way.
